Why does the stylist on TLCs What Not to Wear always chop all their hair off ?

Then gives them the most hideous matronly hairstyle.. Has he ever done any long styles.

Why does the stylist on TLCs What Not to Wear always chop all their hair off ?

my dear, I have said that time without number, a long long time ago! Its so... stupid, the way that every stylist on TV appears to want to chop off everybody's hair! like, chopping off a person's hair does NOT make them look youthful! Its all about different strokes for different folks, and the shape of the person's face!

I mean, if they are such "professionals" you would think that they would figure that they all have a tendency to chop off people's hair.

*** BTW, I am ranting b/c of my hairstylist has starting going crazy with over trimming me and other clients hair (yes, and she is black) Can you imagine? that chick offered to give my twin (whose hair is long btw) "Victoria Beckham's" hairstyle! what tha...?

Nick actually does a lot of long styles. Many of the women he styles are over 30, and long hair is not very flattering for most women of that age group so he leans towards shorter styles. They are also less maintenance. I have yet to see a very matronly look from him. For the most part I think he does a great job with the clients.

that's so funny

my mom and I were watching that show yesterday

and she asked the exact thing!

i totally agree btw, I think its' cause he's jealous :p

lol

I think he does do some long hairstyles, and they're usually really pretty. However, I do agree with you that he does give some really bad matronly hairstyles. I guess he thinks that it actually looks good on them.

I think he's more concerned w/ what hairstyle will go w/ the fashions he has picked out. That's who is paying him.

I don't think all of his hairstyles are short. In general, I think women look better (not to mention more manageable hair) with it cut at the shoulders or just below. After young 20s hair should get a little shorter. I'm 21 and my hair used to be mid back, now it's right at my shoulders, and it looks and feels so much better.

Not that I have seen and I do agree.

Should I get my haircut short?

I am female, 5'9 slender frame, long neck and defined facial features. I look better with my hair pulled back off of my face. My hair is pretty curly and I am sick of having an 80's hairstyle. I feel like there is no style. It is always pulled back or in a bun. My husband likes long hair but he doesn't have to take care of it. I want to feel sexy but not silly. I am 45 yrs old. Any recommendations?

"My husband likes long hair but he doesn't have to take care of it."

Sounds like you're ready to go for it. That statement says it all. Besides, it's not his hair, it's yours! Do what you want with it. Does your hubby love you, or just your hair?

If it's the latter, here's a suggestion. Get your hair cut short how you want it, ask the stylist to save the ponytail to put into a plastic bag to take home. Get back home in plenty of time before he comes home from work. Have a suitcase packed and make plans to stay with someone overnight just in case. When hubby walks through the door, be sure to greet him there as you show off your new cut. If he throws a fit about it, just go grab your suitcase and head for the door. But grab your ponytail on your way out, hand it to hubby, and say something to the effect of "I hope you two will be very happy together!" and walk out. Stay with a friend, relative, etc. overnight. The next day, give hubby a call and give him an ultimatum; you'll come home, but you'll have your hair the way YOU want it; if not, then he'll have your ponytail to remember you by.

Of course the preceding is a bit extreme. You probably won't go through with something like that. But it gets the point across.

So go ahead and cut it if you want. By what you described of your facial features and your long neck, you shouldn't have any regrets or trouble pulling it off. Try hair imaging software either for a computer or at a providing salon. A stylist can also help you. Good luck!

Can someone HELP me??

I have long hair its curly...well the colour is blackish brownish its really oily....and I need to change my hairstyle before school starts anyone wanna help me??Ohh!!ya I'm also planning to change my styly I mean like I always wear Jeans and some cute T-Shirt , the T-Shirt is maybe always Pink, black, light blue and white....oh and i always wear colourful open sweaters...or maybe a red or blue overcoat....can someone tell me what I can do to make me look more cooler??

Can someone HELP me??

I'd suggest a really good haircut, especially if your hair is oily as the weight of the hair can sometimes make it look worse so a nice cut brings it up a bit and looks better. Also, putting a nice color on, just a semi-permanent wash-in color can also be good, like a warm brunette or something, as they are cheap and make your hair shinier. I would take a look at some magazines too and see if there are any celeb pictures or any style that you like and you can use that as a guide? Some celebs have a really nice style, simple jeans and t-shirt sounds good with a colorful overcoat! Good luck, I am sure you'll look great! :)

Take care of hair by washing regularly.

Tell a Hair Stylist to gice a Step cut. Is good to make hair look less thick

Pony tails are in fashion. So tie up when out for long; keeps a look cool

OK first you should be confident of what you are doing.i suggest the black color will be good to your hear..by the your style of clothing is wonderful...

Can someone HELP me??

If you want to look a little more hip I would say don't change your look. Be comfortable in the style you have. If you want to replace a small piece of your clothing collection I would say to get a knee length black wool "pea" style coat. It is a classic choice for anything you wear, from school to going out somewhere nice. I got mine from V.S., but you can find one anywhere and treated right they will last a long time. As for your hair...well, you could try lots of things with it. If your worried about oil then try a daily cleansing shampoo, herbal essence has a nice one that smells really clean and light. You could have a "perm" that will straighten your hair and try some highlights and low lights to give your hair a little more oomph. if your looking for something a little more flirty, you could try a shoulder length cut with a few highlights and just mouse it up when you get out of the shower and let it air dry.

Hope this helps a little.

Leave the curly hairs open and let the color of hairs be black.

Avoid wearing black T-Shirts. White, light blue and grey would look good on your jeans. Try wearing short shirts on jeans too!

If you are wearing a spectacle, wear khakhi/army green trousers and crispy white cotton short shirts %26amp; dark colored overcoats which will give you an intellectual look. Change your handbags accordingly.

You are beautiful. Follow above, you will look more beautiful. "Green looks greener while sun shines!!!" and most importantly, have a smile on your face always. It enhances your beauty!

Good luck to you!
