How hard would this short/spiky cut be to do everyday?

Hi,

I know pretty much nothing about hairstyling... I have very long hair and am going to chop it all off in a few months. (Yes, drastic, but then I can donate the max. length possible to Locks of Love.) Here's my question: I am madly in love with this haircut...

... sorry this is only a side-shot picture.... Can anyone tell me if this would be really hard and time-consuming to do every morning, or would it be not so bad? If it helps to know, I have medium-to-thick hair, and it's pretty well-behaved, does what I want it to.

Also, does anyone know what this cut (spiky in the back with longish, sideswept bangs in the front) is called?

The cut in the picture is a 'modifed Mohawk' with the side having hair that is brushed down, and not shaved. It's actually only a 'bit difficult' to do, and you'd have to use a 'strong gel' to get it to 'stand up straight' like that in the middle ... but after about three times in practice you should be able to do it easily, even if you are totally 'unknowledgeable' about hairstyling. Go to a GOOD 'alternative hairdresser' for the 'trim' after you make your donation, and get the 'good solid gels' from the hairdresser, not at a store/drugstore, though ... your HAIR will appreciate the difference.

I honestly don't think it would be that hard. Typically, short hairstyles are much easier to upkeep, and they are less prone to damage and split ends. You probably should ask your hair stylist how to do the everyday "styling" to make it look like that everyday.

"got 2 be" glue gel will work just don't apply alot otherwise ill be to stiff and nasty.

oh my gosh!!!!! i love it. i have long hair too and in about a month im gonna go chop it all off! but i think you would probably get tired of doing your hair like this everyday. if i were you i would just get my hair cut all the same lenght(except the bangs) in the back so i wouldnt look so weird when you dont put it up.

And it's really easy to do in the morning...all you need is some gel and hairspray!!
