Why does the stylist on TLCs What Not to Wear always chop all their hair off ?

Then gives them the most hideous matronly hairstyle.. Has he ever done any long styles.

my dear, I have said that time without number, a long long time ago! Its so... stupid, the way that every stylist on TV appears to want to chop off everybody's hair! like, chopping off a person's hair does NOT make them look youthful! Its all about different strokes for different folks, and the shape of the person's face!

I mean, if they are such "professionals" you would think that they would figure that they all have a tendency to chop off people's hair.

*** BTW, I am ranting b/c of my hairstylist has starting going crazy with over trimming me and other clients hair (yes, and she is black) Can you imagine? that chick offered to give my twin (whose hair is long btw) "Victoria Beckham's" hairstyle! what tha...?

Nick actually does a lot of long styles. Many of the women he styles are over 30, and long hair is not very flattering for most women of that age group so he leans towards shorter styles. They are also less maintenance. I have yet to see a very matronly look from him. For the most part I think he does a great job with the clients.

I think he does do some long hairstyles, and they're usually really pretty. However, I do agree with you that he does give some really bad matronly hairstyles. I guess he thinks that it actually looks good on them.

I think he's more concerned w/ what hairstyle will go w/ the fashions he has picked out. That's who is paying him.

I don't think all of his hairstyles are short. In general, I think women look better (not to mention more manageable hair) with it cut at the shoulders or just below. After young 20s hair should get a little shorter. I'm 21 and my hair used to be mid back, now it's right at my shoulders, and it looks and feels so much better.

Not that I have seen and I do agree.
